From the village streets around Farnborough High Street to the Farnborough Park estate and the shops at Locksbottom, this corner of BR6 has more planning and parking detail than most. We introduce a vetted local fitter who knows to check it, surveys your bathroom for free and quotes in writing.

Two conservation areas, two boundaries
Farnborough Village Conservation Area was designated on 22 May 1979. Farnborough Park has its own, separately recorded conservation area. If you live in either, check your exact address before adding anything to the outside of the house, such as a new extractor vent, soil pipe, flue or rooflight. The two boundaries are not interchangeable, so a rule that applies in the village may not apply on the estate, and the other way round.
There is also an Article 4 direction on specified land in the High Street, Farnborough Village Neighbourhood Centre. It removes the right to convert commercial premises to homes without permission (Class MA). It does not restrict refurbishing an existing bathroom, but it matters if your project is part of converting a shop or office into a flat.
Farnborough Park: estate history and covenants
The Farnborough Park estate dates from 1926, and building continued after the war until it was completed in 1961, so homes span interwar and post-war construction. The estate's own history notes that covenants were written into each deed of sale and that most remain enforceable. Covenants are separate from planning, so read your deeds as well as checking with the council if your plans change the outside of the house. A measured bathroom design survey helps keep changes inside the existing shell where possible.
