Mottingham sits on the boundary between Bromley and Greenwich, and our service covers the Bromley side. Much of it is interwar council-built housing, which gives bathroom projects here a familiar starting point. We introduce a vetted local fitter who surveys the room and quotes in writing.

Call 020 7946 0123 or send a short enquiry. The survey and quote are free.

The Mottingham Estate

The Mottingham Estate is a London County Council development of around 2,000 homes, with the first houses occupied in 1935. Bathrooms in estate houses of this period were built to a standard plan and have usually been updated since, so most projects are refits within the existing room. A fitter will check the condition of the floor, the soil pipe and any older pipework once the old suite is out. For families, a bath to shower conversion or a modern bathroom installation are both common choices.

Which council covers your address?

Bromley Council's ward is now called Mottingham, replacing the older Mottingham and Chislehurst North name. The borough boundary with Greenwich is not always obvious. A boundary order sets it along the rear gardens of properties on Mottingham Road between West Park and Court Road, then down the centre of Mottingham Road and White Horse Hill south-east from Court Road. So the street name alone does not tell you which council handles your parking permits, skip licence or any planning questions. Check your address before applying.

Parking and the town centre

Paid parking on Mottingham Road runs Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 6.30pm, with a two-hour maximum stay (RingGo location 26181). That is too short for a working day, so on the Bromley side, a bay suspension through the council's permit portal, applied for at least three working days ahead, is the usual answer. Mottingham station is on Station Approach, off Court Road (SE9 4EW).

The Mottingham Town Centre Article 4 direction restricts converting commercial premises to homes (Class MA) on mapped land. It does not affect refitting a bathroom in an existing home. Typical prices are in our bathroom costs guide.

Mottingham bathroom questions

Is my Mottingham home in Bromley or Greenwich?

It depends on the exact address, because the boundary follows rear gardens and the centre line along parts of Mottingham Road. Check with the council before applying for permits.

How long can the fitter park on Mottingham Road?

Two hours in the paid bays, Monday to Saturday. Arrange a bay suspension for a full day's work.

Does the town centre Article 4 direction affect my bathroom?

No. It concerns converting commercial premises to homes, not refitting a bathroom.
